After 20 years of Air Force active duty Explosive Ordnance Disposal (Bomb Squad) and 7 follow on years of private contracting in the nuclear weapons field, defensive firearms instructor at the NRA Whittington Center, and we even found time to build and sell a custom woodworking company...I retired to just outside of Glacier National Park in breath taking Northwest Montana.
It was in Montana where I was really inspired to open Burgeon Defense. I discovered a real demand for quality training in everything from firearms, food storage, bugout gear, to a survival mindset. There has been such an influx of new people to Montana in the last few years. When you talk to these new people you discover they are fleeing from crumbling crime ridden urban areas and embracing the freedoms and great people this state is known for and they just need a little help getting ready for anything.

I started teaching friends and neighbors a variety of topics and that's when I discovered the depth of hunger for real honest information. The web is full of half truths, dishonest reviews, and down right crazy misinformation. I wanted to build a resource where good people could find great research and honest information. I admit I am constantly learning and love to share what I learn. I love my Savior Jesus Christ, my family and friends, and I also have a deep love for this great nation. We all know this nation is not run perfectly, but after spending multiple combat deployments in a variety of crap holes I can say we live in the best place on God's earth.
I have been asked, what does my tagline "Research for the Reset" mean? What is the "Reset"? The reset is an event which sets us back, personally, community, or as a nation. It could be an economical reset such as a recession or depression. It could be a war, civil, foreign, or an invasion on our own soil. A reset can also be environmental and local to you like a summer forest fire wiping out your area or a hurricane in your coastal town. No matter what the reset is, we can prepare the best we can, and to our own comfort and financial level.
